Story Behind The Image

I spent the entire morning trying to take a picture of The Old Man of Storr. Not just any picture, but the picture I would be really satisfied with, otherwise for me it’s like going back home with nothing. And it wasn’t easy. The wind was so strong that I could barely stand, not to mention my tripod. There was almost no visibility for most of the time and it was raining once in a while. So every time I spotted a small chance for a sunny spell that would reveal the shape of Old Man, I was waiting ready to take a shot. Unfortunately, it got even worse, everything was hidden behind the white wall of mist. It was impossible to have a picture that would look even slightly different than a white sheet of paper, literally.
Sometimes you just have to let it go but for sure not give up. When I drove my car to another location the weather has changed drastically and finally the first sunshine hit The Storr. It was still very cloudy so I knew it wasn’t going to last for long. I stopped my car, jumped over the fence and went through the muddy and boggy ground for a better angle. I set my camera as quick as I could and took the picture I was finally thrilled to get. In the next minute, the light was gone behind the clouds leaving the hills dark and flat looking again.

All my photos are produced as Fine Art Prints using the best archival materials. Checked for quality and approved by me individually. High-quality lenses and neutral density filters used when taking pictures can ensure the best resolution and sharpness to the prints.
Fine Art Fibre Baryte Gloss is the Second generation high-quality real Baryte paper that has a unique look with a bright white gloss finish. Perfect for professional and exhibition prints. The baryta (special barium sulphate coating) is in the paper base giving excellent colour rendition. The technical benefits of Baryta layer include greater detail and definition, extended tonal range and excellent archival properties with museum quality – no discolouration and degradation under normal conservation conditions.

All my Fine Art Prints are signed by me and numbered (if limited) inside the bottom margin area. I use an acid-free pen for that. On the back of the print, I handwrite the date and the place where the photo was taken. If you prefer to have my signature and the edition number on the back of the print, please leave a note while ordering.
Additionally, all limited edition prints will be delivered with a certificate of authenticity, embossed with my personalised stamp. Normally I do not emboss prints itself but if you prefer to have it, please be sure to mention about it while ordering as well.

The photographer reserves the right to reproduce this image for any promotional purposes and to use it in calendars, books, greetings cards, etc. However, these reproductions have different finish and are not considered originals. In fact, these can only increase the value of your original.
