- Munro Bagging in the Highlands -

Buachaille Etive Mor

What an absolutely fabulous morning it was photographing one of the best known and loved of all the Munro peaks in Scotland, i.e. Buachaille Etive Mòr. As a Glencoe photographer I had an opportunity to photograph that massive mountain several times before but almost never in such clear conditions. Not a cloud in the sky. However, whatever the season and whether conditions, this epic view of the mountain always makes you to stop and admire its uniqueness. No wonder, it’s one of the most photographed sights in Scotland.

Taking those few shots in the morning felt like the best way to start a day since shortly after I set off to hike up that mountain and summit its two Munros. Stob na Bròige to the West and Stob Dearg to the East which is the highest of these two Munros on the Buachaille. You can see them both in the images below. Eventually, it had become cloudy which I was happy about since that helped to add more contrast to that scenery and bring those beautiful shapes of Buachaille ridge out.
Two Munros in one day is a proper exercise but once you’re up there you’ll be awarded a stunning panorama view of Glencoe. Certainly worth hiking up there.
